1. Skin Hydration: In a study published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology in 2012, researchers investigated the effect of sweet almond oil on the skin's barrier function. The study found that sweet almond oil improved the barrier function of the skin, resulting in improved skin hydration and reduced water loss. The researchers concluded that sweet almond oil "is a safe, effective, and well-tolerated emollient that can improve skin hydration in both normal and diseased skin".

2. Anti-inflammatory: Another study, published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences in 2017, investigated the potential anti-aging effects of sweet almond oil. The study found that sweet almond oil had antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and could help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The researchers concluded that sweet almond oil "has the potential to be developed as an anti-aging agent for the skin".

3. Water retention: A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science in 2017 investigated the moisturising effects of sweet almond oil on the skin. The study found that sweet almond oil was effective in improving skin hydration and reducing transepidermal water loss. The researchers concluded that sweet almond oil "is a natural, safe and effective ingredient in skin care products for dry skin treatment".

4. Inflammation: In a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology in 2020, researchers investigated the effect of sweet almond oil on atopic dermatitis. The study found that sweet almond oil improved skin hydration, reduced inflammation and improved the overall severity of atopic dermatitis. The researchers concluded that sweet almond oil "is an effective adjunctive treatment for atopic dermatitis".
